Eason Wang is a 1450 rated USCF (United State Chess Federation) chess player and has actively participated in tournaments around Ohio. He has lots of experience teaching chess to all the way from kindergarteners to highschoolers. At Dublin Jerome High School, Eason was chosen to be an instructor at Chess Club. This December, as an officer of Chess Club, he worked together with fellow officers to coordinate a chess tournament where 80% of the profits were donated for Cancer Research. At the Ohio Chinese Leadership Club, Eason has already started to teach chess alongside Henry Wang. The kids so far have learned how to play, checkmate patterns, and how to look for all checks, captures, attacks before making each move.
His teaching was not limited to chess as he also tutored kids at the Abbey Village Church in Dublin under the volunteer organization of AYLUS (Alliance of Youth Leaders in the United States). Furthermore, Eason has volunteered around his community such as in the Dublin Irish Festival and the Alzheimers Walk in Columbus. In his free time, Eason enjoys cooking food, playing the piano, and biking around with his friends. He runs track for Jerome.
